Life is a journey and it requires specific skills to make the best of it.
Obviously, different people with unique differentiation make different choices in the journey of life.
Here is an analogy:
4 people drawn from different background are on a quest to travel to Lagos from Abuja with no details of how to get there.
Imagine that one of the 4 wants to get to Lagos by trekking, the second by horseback, the third by car and the last by air travel. Who is most effective among them?
While it will take almost a month to get to Lagos before solving the riddles by trekking, it will take some days on horseback and 8 hours by driving a ‘good car’ then 55minutes by flying a jet.
This is the way different people in our society think about quests everyday hence there are 4 categories of people in relation of life quest.
We have the Trekkers, the Riders, the Drivers and the Flyers.
The Trekkers are people that mostly think shallow of everything. They look for excuses to justify their issues and refuse to go beyond the ordinary to making progress with the laggard say “what will be will be”.
The Riders are people that use old methods to solve contemporary problems not knowing that the world has shifted from analogue to not just digital but AI and machine learning. They have their own little result and remain a local champion in their own right.
The Drivers are people that are champion of today but do not want to learn the way of the future. They left the analogue world yesterday and they are in the digital age of understanding but not learning new ways, new ideas and not innovating which will jeopardize the future.
The Flyers are people that are always ready to learn new things. They possess the potential and the capacity to make changes happen, they are adaptable, they are innovative and inventive at the same time and always look for new ways of solving problems. The future is made for this people and they will succeed when they get there because they are prepared to make the magic happen always, they are the future leaders in all ramifications of endeavours.
If you want to rule in the future, then think like a flyer today and fly in time to the future to know what will be required then learn such today and you will become a commander when the morrow comes because you have mastered the art and the science of success of that time from today.
Imagine the luxury of Honda car brands today but that would not have been possible if Soichiro Honda limited his knowledge to the mechanic skill he acquired from Art Shokai garage rather he went on to attend engineering school (even without graduating) and kept learning quality control and automation processes until he founded Honda Technical Research Institute in 1945. Today, Honda lives the legacy of its founder by remaining one of the most innovative and profitable automakers in the world.
If you want to leave a legacy behind, think and act like Soichiro who transformed from a car mechanic to a manufacturer of the same kind of product he learned to repair. He saw the future in the eye of his days, refused to live one day at time but learn the ways of the future and his name lives on in time.
Fly in Time….
